Declined move request[edit]

Shouldn't we get a definitive id of this insect before renaming the file? INeverCry 22:07, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming it possibly twice may suck, but I think its better than keeping it with wrong name.

If we give it another wrong name, that wouldn't be better. INeverCry 18:41, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The Image is used in wikis in 15 languages and in most cases they provide false information to the reader just because we don't change the name of this image and edit all the pages which i can't do alone because some of them aren't displayed correct on my screen. Action is required immediatly! These lies shall not be tolerated any longer than necessary.

I've put a fact disputed tag on the file. I'll check through those 15 wikis, though not all the uses appeat to be in article space.--KTo288 (talk) 13:34, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Had a look for pics of Phyllobius argentatus with google image search and two ghits in particular http://www.eakringbirds.com/eakringbirds4/insectinfocusphyllobiusargentatus.htm and http://www.pbase.com/hvr_oosterzele/image/79980009&gcmd=add_comment sure look like our bug.--KTo288 (talk) 13:43, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The scrobes (black grooves on rostrum into which the base of the antenna can fit) of the weevil in the image are all wrong for it to possibly be Phyllobius argentatus. I do not know what weevil it is, but certainly not a Phyllobius ... Stho002 (talk) 00:13, 23 May 2012 (UTC) Probably a Polydrusus sp., see http://bugguide.net/node/view/17161/bgimage ...
