What is the point[edit]

What is the point of this map supposed to be? I went on the Wikipedia that uses this file, translated, and it just seems like a random map. —Spesh531, My talk, and External links 01:55, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

@Spesh531: considering the descriptions ("PPI"), the uploader's other work File:Logoppi.png, and the close resemblance to File:PiratePartiesMap18.svg, I'd say this map is supposed to show the presence of pirate parties. Pinging Enyavar who added the fact-disputed note. As to why it appears on pages about UNSCR1265: my guess is that Wikipedia originally had a local file correctly showing a map of ongoing conflicts, then Yotna comes in and uploads this pirate party file to Commons with the same name, and finally File:Ongoing Conflicts (1).png could only be migrated using a different name. --HyperGaruda (talk) 10:49, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That could be it. I requested a file move now, and when that was handled we can request a file move of the "Ongoing Conflicts" file that shows the 2012 situation. --Enyavar (talk) 11:20, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
