I'm sorry but excerpt below is literally from the website (my emphasis):

Plankton*net's content in the form of metadata and/or images associated with observations and sets are licensed under the terms of Creative Commons license attribution, non-commercial, share-alike variant. Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License. For additional literature on creative commons as applied to biodiversity, read Moritz (2006).
