There are several issues here which lead me to believe the image is inaccurate. First, it is the only image I have seen depicting the General Government as ever becoming part of Germany proper. Second, it inaccurately depicts Germany's borders in 1933, which did not consist of the Rhineland and the Saar. Third, and this is the smallest issue (and one that I wouldn't even mention if it weren't for the other two problems) I think the scaling of the map is off.--88.73.245.179 09:17, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I've not only seen maps of "Grossdeutschland" that include the Rhineland, the Saar, and the "General Government" in occupied Poland, but also a third of Switzerland. This map indicated that Hitler wanted to split Switzerland between Germany, Italy, and France. ----DanTD (talk) 14:07, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This image image is inaccurate. The Saarland returned to Germany in 1935, yet it is colored as of 1943, along with Elsass-Lothringen. This image is causing confusion, it should be deleted. --Matthead (talk) 16:59, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is based on File:GDR.png, which is well-sourced, based on Putzger – Historischer Weltatlas, 89. Auflage, 1965. Only the abbrev. "GDR" is confusing in English context.--Matthead (talk) 17:03, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In all versions Saarland is colored as 1933, not 1943. This is also incorrect, it should have the same color as for instance Austria. Cycn (talk) 06:15, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Saarland was occupied and administered under a League of Nations mandate, but it was never severed from Germany. It was a German territory under occupation. 99.249.15.40 18:40, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
