The attribution on this file is nonsense. For two reasons (at least). First, the image is clearly a modern illustration and not an authentic Ottoman miniature -- its texture makes this obvious. Second, the information "Topkapi Palace Museum Library Cat. No. 2142" does not follow the Topkapi's cataloguing conventions. No manuscript is refered to just by a number, there must also be the name of the funds/collection in which the manuscript is preserved. It appears that the only manuscripts at the Topkapi with number 2142 are A.2142 and Y.2142; the latter is a Qur'an, the former contains several medical texts in Arabic. Neither, I'm sure, would feature a picture of Nasreddin Hoca. Wiki is widely used and such errors tend to travel far and wide.
