PLEASE NOTE: I am recreating the talk page for this file because I inadvertently included the real name of the reviewer when reproducing the form-email OTRS response I received. (Thank you, INeverCry, for the caution against including personal information - I hope I've got it right this time around.)
To anyone who may have questions about copyright and this file: I am working on getting it over the hurdles. The photograph was given to me by the person who made it. I have received a declaration of consent from her, following the recommended template, and submitted it for OTRS approval - Ticket#2012112210010074 - but I received this email today with the following boilerplate response:
- We have not been able to validate this authorization at this time, because we are unable to be sure that you are the copyright holder of the file.
- One method to help us in this process is to show that the email address which you have used is associated with the official website of the content, or the site where the content was originally published.
- To confirm this authorization, you may do any of the following:
- Resend this email to us from an address listed in the contact page on your website (please ensure that you include the ticket number in the subject, so that our system will associate the new email with this one).
- Amend (temporarily or permanently) the contact page on your website so that this address appears on it, and reply to this email saying you have done so.
- Add a notice on your website specifying that the content is released under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license (or, in the case of an image, any other acceptable free license), and reply to this email saying you have done so and linking to where we can see the notice.
- If there's no corresponding webpage for the content, you may also perform copyright registration of the content at a registration agency and then attach the documentation of this copyright registration in an email to us.
- Thank you for your understanding and patience. This procedure is in place to ensure that Wikimedia respects copyrights and the rights of authors.
I am continuing to work on getting this image fully compliant with the Wikipedia copyright guidelines, and would appreciate some help with this. My next move will be to have the creator of the photo email the declaration of consent from her own email account, using the Ticket number.
