In what way is this "Watt's " steam engine? It looks like an engine of the 1840s-1850s, which is later than Watt's engine designs, some decades after he died and this medium-pressure expansive-working engine is quite different to Watt's own designs. Honestly, I have no idea (I didn't take the picture). However, I often pass by the building in which the machine is located. Next time I'll try to take a look at the plaque in the machine, so we can clarify the question. I will tell you. --Zaqarbal (talk) 19:21, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that would be appreciated. Andy Dingley (talk) 21:09, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Caption[edit]

Finally I've photographed the caption. It reads as follows:

Steam engine of the Watt type, built by Napier and Son (London) in year 1859. It was one of the first steam engines installed in Spain. It drove the coining presses of the Royal Spanish Mint until the end of the 19th century. It was donated to the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of Madrid and installed in its lobby in 1910.
