I have previously contacted Medieval Tymes to verify if their images are scanned direct from m.638 or from one of the (copyrighted) reproductions of it, but did not receive a reply.

The situation is either that their images are direct scans from m.638, in which case they are "Copyright © 2000-2004 Medieval Tymes, All Rights Reserved", or they are scans from one of the printed works, which are copyright of Pierpont Morgan Library in various editions from 1927 onwards, none of which are out of copyright yet.

In neither case is the image in the public domain. Medieval Tymes' desire does not make it so.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rogerborg (talk • contribs) 13:48, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

There are no copyrights that can be granted on a simple reproduction of an image, so the Pierpont Morgan Library can't hold any copyrights on this image, no matter how it was created. Kusma (討論) 14:44, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
