Obviously not "faithful photographic reproduction", also poor quality

Licensing section claims via template that "This is a faithful photographic reproduction of a two-dimensional, public domain work of art." Clearly untrue as reverse image search via TinEye reveals the original had two men, not one. However, what exactly is original is moot as there are two colourations of it from two different digital collections at the New York Public Library Digital Collections: [1], [2].

It is possible to download either at 760px from the above sources, which is larger than this.
