Alternate Date / Location of Manuscript[edit]

This listing is showing a date of 13th century instead of 15th century, and that the location of the manuscript is the Bibliothèque nationale de France. I'm not a medieval historian but I wonder if the style and the level of detail is inconsistent with a 13th century date; as can be seen in various illuminated manuscripts linked to from this list.

I adjusted the date. We will probably never know for sure. We could just state: "Date=13th to 15th century, depending on source."--Canoe1967 (talk) 08:31, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay -- I think the other thing is just the library where it is located. I suppose we can go with that source as reputable to where the actual original illuminated manuscript is. 08:40, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
I don't really care as long as it is PD and readers do not get the wrong date from us.--Canoe1967 (talk) 08:54, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Dr. Barber kindly wrote back to me, and verified that it is 1470 so I just changed it. Jjjjjjjjjj (talk) 01:57, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good stuff! Did he confirm an author or should we say "...and possibly others'?

Author[edit]

I could also add here to the talk page that in my searches I found a very similar picture which is attributed to an artist by the name of Evrard d'Espingues. This is speaking to the question of who the actual artist was. Gantelet might have done part of the work, but other people might have done other parts.

That one is in the possession of Bibliothèque nationale de France, and there is a scan on their site available here.

I got the name Evrard d'Espingues from the the same list mentioned above hosted on a server at University of Pittsburgh.

I know this isn't en:wp but we should offer all sources to readers. "Date=13th or 15th (conflicting sources) Author=Evrard d'Espingues or Michel Gantelet (conflicting sources)"--Canoe1967 (talk) 09:15, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
