I doubt the license of this picture is correct. It's most likely a scan from a book or review.

The license is correct[edit]

I find it curious that anyone disputing the validity of a photograph would not sign their name. Perhaps the result of (an uninvited) edit war regarding captions in the Wikipedia? Anyway, I uploaded the photograph, and know the photographer, who had a tentative book deal in the works for this, and a couple other early photos of "British Invasion" bands' photos. The author's name is Dina Regine, she's the person who DJ'd Keith Richards' birthday party a few years back, by the way. Please take this annoying tag off here unless someone actually has any real foundation for these accusations. Just because the photo is a good one, doesn't mean it isn't valid. Many people sit on pictures for years, and, I've uploaded hundreds of photos and I email every single person to ascertain whether they are the actual photographer. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 00:32, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm the one who made the comment above. I didn't mean to make any accusations, but sometime the license requirements to have a picture on Commons are not obvious to everybody. For example, it's quite frequent for editors to scan a picture and upload it here without checking its copyright and/or license. From what you are saying, it's not the case at all here; if your friend agreed to have the picture uploaded here then I think the tag can be removed. This is indeed a great picture and a valuable contribution to Commons. WikiLaurent (talk) 01:04, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
