Motto[edit]

Hi everyone. The font of the motto is incorrect, can you please change it with the correct one? --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 17:01, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Poprawione. Poznaniak (dyskusja) 20:27, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

The correct name does not contain the ordinal number. It is redundant, since there is only one Pope Francis existing so far. As soon as there is a Pope called Francis II. the first one will be referenced by "Francis I." So this file should be renamed to "Signum Francisci.svg" --Madden (talk) 18:36, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would even give the file an English name, such as File:CoA Pope Franciscus.svg. --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 18:44, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Nie ma żadnego powodu, dla którego plik miałby mieć nazwę po angielsku. Językiem urzędowym Stolicy Apostolskiej jest łacina. Poznaniak (dyskusja) 19:17, 18 March 2013 (UTC) TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH (for those who don't understand Polish): "There is no reason why the file should be called in English. The official language of the Holy See is Latin." --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 20:30, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no problem. Could you style the motto with the correct font? --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 20:28, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done Poznaniak (dyskusja) 20:32, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Better, thank you, even if you probably inadvertently reverted the CoA to the version with the incorrect mitra, canceling Jayarathina's changes. However, I've already asked him to provide. --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 20:47, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Infuła powinna być dokładnie taka jak zrobiłem. Zobacz tutaj: [1]. Wynika to z tego, iż autor herbu posklejał w fotoshopie kilka różnych herbów niepasujących stylami. Poznaniak (dyskusja) 20:55, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Poznaniak, I don't think you understand the difference between a painting and a vector. You have traced the image from the official source using a vector editor. This is a vector representation. I personally think mitre should remain as it is now, in vector format rather than the result of tracing. But do as per consensus --Jayarathina (talk) 12:48, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Jayarathina. --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 14:33, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Poznaniak, Please do not engage in edit war (wojnę edycyjną). If you do not like our decisions, please discuss. --Jayarathina (talk) 15:18, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Grape or spikenard?[edit]

The italian blasonnement says: "In basso, si trovano la stella e il fiore di nardo." But what we see is a bunch of grapes and not a spikenard. What is the correct image? --maxxl2 - talk 08:16, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The image is right. The nardo flower is very similar to a bunch of grape, and this is also similar to the one that is reported on the site of the Vatican, which is what interests us. --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 11:56, 19 March 2013 (UTC).[reply]
There is no similarity between a bunch of grapes and a spikenard. The spikenard (nardo) looks more like a lily as on almost every painting of St. Joseph and Jesus child. --maxxl2 - talk 12:26, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Then you should ask the Vatican. The picture in this file looks just like the one published by the Vatican (with the explanation about spikenard etc.), so this is the correct image. If the explanation doesn't go with the picture, I believe it is not our concern. Sentausa (talk) 11:12, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
They changed it a bit. Now you see some spikenard fruits, yet no blossoms. --maxxl2 - talk 16:30, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also the star is changed. Jacopo Werther iγ∂ψ=mψ 16:35, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Color blue is now similar to the one of Bergoglio when he was archibishop, and the key and the tiara are more grey. I'd correct them, could anybody do it? --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 21:44, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As we dont have received a valid color scheme of the Vatican yet the colors are just a guess. For the time beeing any shade of a color is acceptable as far as it follows the blazonnement. --maxxl2 - talk 22:41, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Color of shield[edit]

The blue of the shield is not really the same as the one in the Vatican page. Do you think it should be corrected? Sentausa (talk) 10:38, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The right blue is RGB 2-65-255, actually I'm not able to verify the coloration of the logo on Commons. However, if the color is not RGB 2-65-255 I think it shoulb be changed. --InfattiVedeteCheViDice (talk) 11:58, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They changed it![edit]

Apparently, they changed the appearance of the coat of arms: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/francesco/elezione/stemma-papa-francesco_it.html Sentausa (talk) 15:29, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, they have released a new version in order to be more specific. So, a more similar colors (blue, grey for the key and the mitre...) are needed now. --Robert Laymont (talk) 11:55, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mitre[edit]

Please, notice that the mitre should be centered and it isn't. --Robert Laymont (talk) 12:48, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
