Identification[edit]

I modified this edit made 6 June 2013:

Bust is believed to be of Plutarch (see also present day copy at Chaeronia, his home town). The livius.org website is possitive about this bust been of Plutarch

I simply don't believe that the statement "bust is believed to be of Plutarch" is correct. livius.org is not a particularly reliable website about this sort of thing, and it certainly contains no discussion concerning the possible identifications of this bust. It is enough, I think, to point out that Plutarch is a tentative identification. I have though kept the link to the present day copy at Chaeronia, since it is at least interesting that officials in Chaeronia have used this for a modern bust of Plutarch. If anyone wants to definitely assert that this bust is believed to be of Plutarch then ideally I would like to see a reference to a textbook which specifically discusses this bust and its possible identifications.
