This painting of Gaspard de Coligny cann't be painted by Jan Antonisz. van Ravensteyn (1572-1657), because De Coligny was murdered in 1572 (Bartholomeusnight)and in that year Van Ravensteyn was born.

Were is the Dutch language, of the country that defeated the English fleet during the Second and Thirth Dutch-Anglo War??? A little bit pissed off, because of that, hey???

Hello, see File talk:Ernst Casimir van Nassau.jpg. The same applies here. A painting is not a photograph and can be done after the sitter has died using for example an engraving or another painting. This painting then is clearly a posthumous portrait, but I don't know after which original it was painted. That would be interesting to find out. What Dutch text is missing according to you?
