Confusion over similar images[edit]

It is true that Germany declared war on the United States on December 11, 1941. However, the United States responded in like kind on the same day, which is the event recorded in File:Franklin Roosevelt signing declaration of war against Germany.jpg. (See also en:Results of the attack on Pearl Harbor#Germany and Italy declare war.)
Despite their evident similarities, File:Franklin Roosevelt signing declaration of war against Germany.jpg and File:Franklin Roosevelt signing declaration of war against Japan.jpg are in fact diffrent photos of different events. (Note, for example, the color of Roosevelt's suit.) The potential confusion between the two images has previously been fully explored and recorded at File talk:Franklin Roosevelt signing declaration of war against Germany.jpg#Confusion over similar images. —Werewombat (talk) 06:54, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
