@Caphtaain: Greetings, thank you for making this picture. There is one small issue, namely that credits in the picture should not be displayed. When you create a picture for Wikimedia, you agree to free use without credits. See w:WP:WATERMARK. Is it possible to remove the credits? Thanks. --Glennznl (talk) 20:57, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is "Phonetian" really a word? Shouldn't it be "Phoenician"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FerrucioBuitoni (talk • contribs) 10:32, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Potential Technical Improvements[edit]

This chart might still be improved technically.

  • The Phoenician letter 𐤀 ʾālep (‭א Alef) has been replaced by 𐤏 ʿayin (‭ע‭ Ayin).
  • The Angkorian Khmer form of ម & យ have been swapped.[1]
  • The Angkorian Khmer form of dependent vowels is based on ធ Thô but their modern form is based on អ . Neither are based on ក as indicated by the Latin transcription.
    • The Pallava form of dependent vowels is based on Dha.[2]
  • It has been suggested that Thai letters พ P̄ho P̄hān & ฟ F̄o F̄an are derived from duplication of บ Bo Baimâị.[3]
  • Thai ใ◌ and modern Khmer ែ seem related.[Citation needed]
    • Khmer ៃ -ai/-ey (អៃ Ai), Thai ไ◌(ย) -aị, Lao ໄ◌ -ai
    • Khmer ែ (អែ Ê), Thai ใ◌ -ai, Lao ໃ ◌ -ay (?)
  • Thai เ◌า and modern Khmer ោ or ៅ seem related.[Citation needed]
    • Brahmi 𑁄 -o (𑀓𑁄 Ko) ↦ Khmer ោ -aô/-oŭ (អោ ), Thai โ◌(ะ) /-o, Lao ໂ◌(ະ) /-o
    • Brahmi 𑁅 -au (𑀓𑁅 Kau) ↦ Khmer ៅ -au/-ŏu (អៅ Au), Thai เ◌า(ะ) -ao/, Lao ເ◌າ(ະ) -ao/ (?)
