De minimis[edit]

@Jameslwoodward and Yann: I ask for a third opinion after the closed DR, since admins should gather from discussion, not add own opinions when closing DRs. The text on the package is copyrightable, the drawings etc. plus that the package as a whole has a copyright. How can something, which is the only focus of the image be DM? First, your comment is wrong. Not only are Admins permitted to add their own opinion to the closing, they are required to do so if the discussion does not correctly cover the issues.
"The debates are not votes, and the closing admin will apply copyright law and Commons policy to the best of his or her ability in determining whether the file should be deleted or kept. Any expressed consensus will be taken into account so far as possible, but consensus can never trump copyright law nor can it override Commons Policy." See COM:DEL.
I think Yann is correct. The only thing on the wrapper that might have a copyright are each of the six blue icons. I say "might", but I would argue against it on the grounds that they are such simple representations that they don't pass the ToO. And, as Yann said, they are small enough so that you could certainly argue de mininimis. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 10:39, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
