Can someone remove the purple border on South Africa please? 10% of South Africa is white, all of them speak fluent English, thats a start. The Indian population speak it natively. That's another 2%, The majority of the coloureds can speak it, thats added on about 7%, and do we have to go down the road of adding the massive percentage that can speak English among the blacks? --86.165.170.134 11:46, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just noting this because I guess I forgot to add the note when I looked it up the first time -- South Africa has less than 10% who speak english, and that is the less strict definition that includes english creoles. From the wikipedia page Demographics of South Africa: Despite the fact that English is recognised as the language of commerce and science, it was spoken by only 8.2% of South Africans at home in 2001, an even lower percentage than in 1996 (8.6%).[2]
