Hi, i have a question, when Croatia will join the EU on July 1 2013, will you change the color of Croatia on the map in dark blue like the rest of the EU members? Thank you

Hello Starfire, this is a map of the EU27. There will be a new map for the EU28, of course with Croatia. Cheers --Kolja21 (talk) 13:17, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why not just update the map with croatia and change the name? Why would we make a new file when a country joins but not when candidate status changes? this makes no sense. --U5K0 (talk) 09:57, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The EU maps are used in dozens of articles. Some are about an historic event. We need historic and new maps. --Kolja21 (talk) 01:01, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Almost all articles use this map. It's not possible to update (change the map for a new one) automatically? - Sarilho1 (talk) 20:22, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On my to do list there is a map "EU-candidate_countries_map.svg". This new file will be updated regularly. --Kolja21 (talk) 18:44, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Inland waters[edit]

The precence of inland waters is shown unexpectedly on this map in my opinion. When i first looked at the map i thought there are some non-EU enclaves inside Sweden, but these are actually just the inland waters Vänern and Vättern. The same applies to a small part of the Netherlands. I think these country parts should not be shown in blue, but be transparent (like Oceans) or just be filled completely. Filling actually makes more sense since these inland waters are part of the countries territory. --2001:16B8:2017:900:CD07:EC7C:A87A:87A0 16:35, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: I see now why this is - in File:EC10-1981 European Community map.svg the area is shown in lighter grey than the territory of sweden, so in this map the light blue is probably due to a lighter shading of the EU member state color. Make sense, but i think it's still unintuitive since one will only see one of those maps at once probably. --2001:16B8:2017:900:CD07:EC7C:A87A:87A0 16:41, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
