Csángós of Dobruja[edit]

Hello Kun Kipcsak, thank you for this great map. I was wondering, are you aware of the village of Oituz in Constanța County? It was founded by Csángós in the last century and it seems to still be inhabited by them. It's the only Csángó village that I see missing (not that I am an expert). Maybe they could be added to the map. Here's an article in case you didn't know about it: [1]. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 20:54, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Super Dromaeosaurus, thank you for your appreciation. I know the situation of the village you mentioned. Unfortunately, the map I made includes only the results from the 2011 Census of Population by Ethnicity, when only 1,536 Csangos were declared in the whole country, the rest preferring to declare themselves Romanian, Hungarian or nothing. It does not follow from the table that someone declared Csango there, which is somewhat surprising given that they come from some communities little assimilated by Romanians, from Bacău County. The only clue to their origin is the Catholic religion (see table), which has not abandoned it.
On this occasion I would like to thank you for the whole activity regarding the topics about Romania and Romanians. I also have a question: why? Because I don't really see people from outside the country who are passionate about our culture.--Kun Kipcsak (talk) 16:55, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see. So not even one single person declared themselves Csángó in Oituz? That's sad to hear. And thank you, the truth is that I am a Romanian too, it's just that I've been living in Spain since I was little and I was teached Spanish rather than Romanian, so I don't have much knowledge of the language. If I did, I would probably edit more on Romanian Wikipedia, but that's unfortunately not the case. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 17:45, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ooops! Now I see that we are talking about the ethnographic map and not File:Ceangai Romania (2011).png. Then yes, those from Drobruja should also be mentioned. Sorry, I'm a little tired.
It is interesting to know the people you belong to. In my case, I live in Romania but I have several origins (Hungarian, Romanian, Polish...).--Kun Kipcsak (talk) 19:43, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nice then, ping me if you update it! Yes, I had assumed you were a bit Hungarian or at least not fully Romanian (nothing wrong with that, of course) from your username, although I realized its meaning just now. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 09:02, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the delay, but I do not succeed in any way fit the region of Dobruja in this map. The reason is the .svg format, which does not allow cropping a simple .jpg or .png image, but just another file of the same format, difficult to modify.--Kun Kipcsak (talk) 08:44, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
