But where's the Lord?[edit]

Hey, what happened to the Lord himself? He's usually in the middle of this picture, making sort of a powerful gesture with his right arm. I know Doré sometimes made several versions of his pictures, but I've never seen the creation without the Creator before. Does anyone know Dorés reason for doing this? Artistic or religious? And is there someone who can upload the "proper" version that includes God? I strongly believe that's the most recognised one. --Mimarob 10:24, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My thoughts exactly! I've seen this first picture many times and it's always had the Lord in the upper middle, standing on a cloud, sort of, and making this power gesture with his arm.
