Identification[edit]

The ships is either the Hamburg Express (IMO 9229829), Shanghai Express (IMO 9229831), Hong Kong Express (IMO 9229843), or the Berlin Express (IMO 9229855). It's hard to be sure given the low resolution of the image, and lack of other pictures on the net from that year, but -- the name on the front appears to best match "Hamburg", there is a scuff mark underneath the capital "L" of Hapag-Lloyd which was present on other pictures of that ship (and not the sisters as far as I could find) and there was one small detail at the base of the house that was different from the Shanghai and Hong Kong. So, seem fairly sure this is the Hamburg. Carl Lindberg (talk) 02:02, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
