Ireland is not politically recognised as part of the British Isles, nor does the Irish government recognise the term, therefore Ireland should be removed from discussions of 'The British Isles'. It is an Anglo-centric term and in no way necessary. The islands of Britain and Ireland may be used as a substitute. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.231.0.49 (talk) 20:41, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

British Isles is a common geographical term. You may personally choose to infer political meaning, but that would be your own point of view. Incidentally, "Anglo-centric" refers to England, which is only one part of Great Britain, and is in itself a biased term. Maybe instead focus your energies on trying to get everyone to rename the Hiberno-centric Irish Sea? Could be more rewarding. Cnbrb (talk) 23:04, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
