Slight Image modification[edit]

I'm not sure if Public Domain law allows it but just for full disclosure I have utilized photoshop to "flip horizontally" this image so that it better corresponds to the English Wikipedia article about this woman. If Public Domain does not allow for this type of modification please revert the image back to this version currently in this file's upload history. Thanks! Netscott 13:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Slight"? Flipping an image horizontally is really not a good idea for it is not a "slight" change at all, because nobody's face is exactly symmetric and just interchanging right and left for reasons of layout looks very much like overmanipulation, or even forgery. I'd encourage a rollback to the original version and redo cropping from there. --77.176.204.244 19:28, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just to give you an example: This image seems to show Ali is wearing a pearl earring on her left ear. She may not even have an earring on her left ear in reality, but the image has been manipulated to show just that. This is not documentation anymore, but invention. There should be a note saying the image has been flipped, at least.
It is in my opinion unacceptable that an image is flipped. It should be flipped back immediately.
I've raised the issue at Village pump#Image flipping. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:18, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The image has been flipped since 2006 and the wikis that use this image has done so knowing that photo "face left". I think that is someone does not like that image "face left" they should create a copy and use this image instead. --MGA73 (talk) 15:41, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
