Confusion of Physical Quantities[edit]
What is this information supposed to mean? Different physical quantities get mixed up here:
- mass (e. g. 5 Tonnen) – measure of inertia, and also of gravitational attraction[1]
- weight (Gewicht) – downward force onto a scale or balance, proportional to mass[2]
- force (Kräfte) – effort to accelerate/decelerate an object, proportional to mass
- momentum? kinetic energy? (Wucht) – neither mass nor force, meaning is unclear
It’s straightforward to determine the momentum and the kinetic energy of a moving object (such as a deer relative to a car), but the force upon impact depends very much on the collision itself: both the car and the deer get deformed in a – mostly – inelastic process. --2001:16B8:17FA:3300:E805:E242:10E1:E4FC 21:58, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
