Shape of patch[edit]

The shape of the patch appears to be elliptical, not round. Overlaying circles on the images of the Moon and Earth reveal that these two shapes are circular, while the border of the patch is not. Although there have been NASA mission patches with other shapes, such as triangles with rounded corners, it appears that the Apollo 14 patch is rather unusual, perhaps unique, in having an elliptical contour. — Quicksilver@ 14:05, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
