Nice retouch, except that the stars of the flag in the shadow have disappeared. Could someone fix that, please? --130.188.8.10 14:50, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Composite photo[edit]

Per the discussion on Wikipedia, this image has obviously been composited from a flag and a telescopic photo of the rocket. Ignoring the physical problem of the position of the photographer if this is a telescopic zoom (which it must be) and the flag is so small in the shot; there's the simple issue of the light on the flag pole coming from the opposite side as the illumination on the rocket. The composite of the two images (the flag with pole and the rest of the shot) were likely done in analog which, given the source, means that this was probably done for PR reasons by NASA at the time of the mission. -Harmil 12/19/2011 (sorry, using a Google TV keyboard, no tilde key... grrr)
