Source specification[edit]

NTK , could you please provide a precise source?
-If you picked the file from the internet - please provide a specific URL.
-If you digitized it yourself, then please state so and therefore please specify the book you took as source, e.g. giving the ISBN number. If possible add pagenumber.
-If you made a diagramm yourself - please provide your Template or data-source
-If there is a sourcecode used in generation, it is highly appreciated to provide it.
Thanks in advance. --Itu (talk) 02:31, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Itu, this was all in the description. The historical prices are from Kitco.com. They're still available there, it seems. Historic metal prices are public domain under USA law. I can't speak to the accuracy of these numbers, however, for much of the period it was fixed to the dollar (bimetallism), hence the fairly flat line during those times. I included the numbers I used, and I plotted it 11 years ago with gnuplot. As for source, read the manual. This isn't used anywhere now, so if you were doing it over again you would want to update it and have it be a bit more pretty, probably SVG rather than 640x480.
