This portrait mistakenly identified as Mademoiselle Léomenie Brienne is a depiction of Philippe de Borbon, grandson of Louis XIV, as can be seen by comparing it with a painting by Pierre Mignard (Versailles MV 3629) probably derived from a family portrait (RCIN 404490). Besides, the sitter wears the sash of the Order of the Holy Spirit, from which only the children of the king or of the Crown prince were members since childhood (the minimum age for the rest of the members was 35 years).
