Reading this chart and comparing it with the one at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Deficits_vs._Debt_Increases_-_2008.png

seems to give a rather incredible picture.

Furthermore, it seems like the government always wants to obfuscate the figures and not report them accurately nowadays for the most part by simply tossing the data under a pile of worthless material that the search engines can't find.

It is generally difficult to find something like

http://www.gpoaccess.gov/usbudget/fy10/pdf/fy10-newera.pdf

and

http://www.cbo.gov/budget/data/historical.pdf

if you go to their internet sites.

I have tried to download the 2 meg one several times and it has failed. Maybe I will get it eventually.

Hat's off to Farcaster for shoveling through the worthless material to produce the chart.
