What do you think is wrong with the attribution? Then en.WP filedesc page said the author is Amiden, and the en.WP generally has rather strict copyright checks.    FDMS  4    10:13, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The file at the English wikipedia clearly stated that the image was copied from the Japanese wiki. The original photographer was あみでん of the Japanese wiki, who uploaded the file in 2007. -- Diannaa (talk) 14:34, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I never denied that. Maybe he agreed to be attributed as Amiden? Otherwise we could change the author field, but stating this image was copied from ja.WP would simply be a lie.    FDMS  4    13:27, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I am pretty sure you are wrong here. The whole point of adding the original upload log and attribution is to protect the copyright holder's rights. The copyright holder is the person who took the photo. The whole purpose of the upload log is to protect the copyright holder's rights and provide attribution to the original photographer, not the person who copied the image from the Japanese wiki to the English wiki. And the person who copies a file to the Commons is not granted any special rights as to layout. -- Diannaa (talk) 14:25, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I fulfill the terms of the (CC) license by attributing the copyright holder (which is user あみでん aka Amiden, although I've already offered replacing [[:en::ja:利用者:あみでん|Amiden]] with [[:ja:User:あみでん|あみでん]]) in the source parameter of the {{Information}} template. By adding a (not at all mandatory) {{Original upload log}} I just provide additional credit to the person who uploaded it to the en.WP (who is not the copyright holder) and transparency. If you put a huge Thank you original uploader! banner on the filedesc pages of files you transferred, I have to agree with that as much as you have to agree with me when I do not want this second original upload log.    FDMS  4    15:10, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
