1 U – small discrepancy[edit]
On right rail in the picture:
1 U = 0.625" + 0.625" + 0.5" = 1.75"
1 U = 15.875 + 15.875 + 12,7 = 44.45 mm (exact calculated with 1" = 25.4 mm)
On left rail in the picture:
1 U = 44.50 mm (1.752")
This is a tiny amount of 0.05 mm resp. 0.002" more as on the right rail.
And 44.50 mm / 1.752" = 25.3995... mm/inch which differs slightly from the exact conversion rate of 25.4 mm/inch.
