At 19:41 (CET), 1 March 2015, D-AIPX was in the air between Berlin Tegel and Paris CDG. Therefore, this can NOT be D-AIPX}

Not D-AIPX?[edit]

As shown by flight tracking data (see https://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAIPX/history if you have an account, or other similar sites) D-AIPX was not in Dusseldorf on March 1st. Either the metadata is wrong, or this is a different aircraft. Revent (talk) 15:28, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see here, D-AIPX had a white/grey nose and not a completely white one. Of couse it is possible, that the nose was changed between Feb 7 and March 1, but IMHO this is annother indication that the plane on the pic is not D-AIPX. -- Milad A380 talk? 17:40, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Milad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StvRUvpoICM <- video of D-AIPX on March 16th, unfortunately not CC-BY, but you can clearly see the nose is still wearing the part-grey paint job. This image is clearly not this plane, as it seems highly unlikely that the radome was replaced, and then repainted, that quickly. Revent (talk) 02:37, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It may by that the nose at March 16th, at that point in time, is wearing this color. But where does that tell anything about the time inbetween? It does not tell anything about the time inbetween. This video is no usable source for that. --88.130.84.126 12:55, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@88.130.84.126: No, it does not. It it within the realm of possiblility that the radome was replaced between Feb. 7 and Mar. 1, and then painted between Mar. 1 and Mar. 16. It is unlikely, however, given that airlines generally only paint the entire plane in a single go, in dedicated painting hangars. This is 'secondary' evidence, however, compared to the fact that D-AIPX was documented as not being in Dusseldorf at all, at any time (much less the specific time given for this photo) on the day the photo was taken. D-AIPX quite frequently flew into that airport, but was flying different routes that day. As I said, "either the metadata is wrong, or this is a different aircraft."
