Description
English: Zittau: Neustadt of Zittau with the Salt House (cultural heritage monument).
Deutsch: Zittau: Blick auf die Neustadt und das Salzhaus. Das Grundgebäude des heutigen Salzhauses wurde 1511 errichtet. Sein heutiges Aussehen erhielt das Haus durch einen Umbau 1730. Das Zittauer Salzhaus bedeckt eine Grundfläche von 53 mal 25 Meter bei einer Höhe von knapp 30 Metern. Es besitzt acht Geschosse und 340 Fensterflächen und gehört damit zu den bedeutendsten Speicherbauten Deutschlands. Von 1998 bis 2002 wurde das Gebäude denkmalgerecht rekonstruiert.
