Das erste Stadtbuch (sozusagen das erste Regierungsprotokoll) enthält unter dem 7. Juni 1336 eine Verordnung, wie künftig die Bürgermeisterwahl und die Anerkennung der Regierung durch die Bürgerschaft zu erfolgen habe.
Auf der ersten Linie ist «jungher R. Bruno burgermeister» (Junker Rudolf Brun) zu lesen.
Das 1636 erstellte Inhaltsverzeichnis des Stadtbuches spricht von den «zwülf Banditen von 1336», welche damals die Stadt verlassen mussten.
