Summary[edit]

Description

Inner courtyard above Yomeimon, or Higurashimon, at Toshogu, Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The structure at left is the inner facade and pillars of the Yomeimon. The woman in the white top is almost at the "upside-down pillar" (see Image:NikkoPillar9741.jpg). Ahead is the mikoshi-sha, with a mikoshi visible within the open doors. The karamon (see Image:NikkoKaramonCarvings5205.jpg) is out of view to the right. The kagura hall is behind the photographer.
