Yingshanosaurus: "Golden Hills lizard" Late Jurassic, Asia

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Yingshanosaurus is a genus of stegosaurian dinosaur that lived in what is now China. It was 4-5 m long, and was herbivorous like all stegosaurians. Yingshanosaurus had a pair of rearward-projecting wing-like spines on its shoulders, each about eighty cm long. These spines have a large flat base, a sudden kink, and a more narrow straight shaft with a protruding ridge on the outer side. The bony plates on its back were rather small and relatively low, and triangular. The largest plates were about fifteen cm high.
