Inside a refurbished Yauza-209-1 tape recorder. Boards and protective leg

Summary[edit]

Description
English: A look into (partially) refurbished Yauza-209-1 tape recorder. New capacitors. Right in the center is one of the ingenious bits and pieces - an internal steel leg. It has no use in normal operation. When the bottom cover with its four normal legs is removed, these internal legs allow "normal" placement of the recorder on hard surfaces without the risk of damaging the protruding boards, motor and transformer. Even better, the whole mech with all the electronics can be easily removed from the wooden cabinet (the only parts not mounted on the mech are the front speakers). Very service-friendly design, something rarely seen today.
