| Description | Xam Yu (ah,now we are talking Chinese!) Seafood Restaurant on Spadina Ave., which is Toronto's main Chinatown district. Chinese eateries were a dime a dozen on this street, including a sprinkling of Vietnamese ones. And though apart from exploring what I'd read of as as the 'largest Chinatown in North America', I was also out looking for a bite to eat. So despite the large proliferation of Chinese cafes, none really excited me enough to go in and order something- they were too formal and starchy for my liking. I was out looking for food carts and dai pai dongs, but didn't find any here. More notes as we go along. (Toronto, Canada, Nov.2015) |
