Description

Item 28598, Department of Streets and Sewers Photographs (Record Series 2625-10), Seattle Municipal Archives. Seattle Municipal Archives changed its URL scheme circa 2022; the older URLs beginning with "clerk" are deprecated, and will eventually fail. English: Wrecked trestle at Railroad Avenue (later Alaskan Way) and Broad Street, Seattle, Washington, U.S., 1923. Looking southeast along the line of Railroad Avenue. The large building at right is the old Pier 14 on the site of present-day Pier 70. The building can be seen from a different angle in File:Seattle - Railroad Avenue and Pier 14 (Pier 70), ca 1935.jpg. At left is the American Can Company Building, then connected by a skyway to a pier.
