English: Works at Ryde Pier Head station, Isle of Wight, England. Engineers are carrying out a programme of works to strengthen and repair the structure. The railway pier itself was originally built in 1878-1880. In the background (red cranes), engineers are carrying out a separate project to remove the decking of the old tramway, prior to creation of a new pedestrian walkway in its place. |
