Summary[edit]

Description
English: Woolstone Church. Woolstone church is dedicated to St Martin and has recently beened retiled 64246. The church is in Cotswold stone and it is situated at the foot of the western edge of the Cotswold hills. Though dating to medieval times the church was much rebuilt in 1499. There is an incline on the tower, this is a result of clay subsoil and was stabilised in 1970 by driving concrete piles into the ground. After the battle of Tewkesbury on 4 May 1471, two defeated Lancastrians were slain in this church by pursuing Yorkists, consequently the church was reconsecreted.
