English: Wood Betony (Stachys officinalis ) An interesting perennial that grows in undisturbed grassland, hedgerows or woodland margins. It was regarded as a very important medicinal plant, good against worms, toothache, headaches and nervous tension to name but a few. It was also used for dyeing and its leaves make a tea. Growing here along the banks of a farm lane. |
