Description
English: 1942 portrait drawing by Wolfgang Willrich (1897–1948) of Ritterkreuzträger Feldwebel Helmuth Valtiner in einem Gebirgsjägerregiment|, a Knight's Cross recipient and NCO in the alpine or mountain troops of the army of Nazi Germany. Valtiner (1919–1987) was awarded the the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes) on June 13, 1941. Postcard (Postkarte, Ansichtskarte, Propagandapostkarte) E-58 issued by the Volksbund für das Deutschtum im Ausland (VDA) in Berlin, Germany during World War II.

Between 1935 and the outbreak of World War II in September 1939 Willrich produced a massive amount of portraiture depicting ‘models of the German race’ that was appreciated by the Nazis. During the war Willrich made portraits of military people of Germany as Third Reich and Wehrmacht propaganda.
