Description
Deutsch: Porträt des 28-jährigen Fugger’schen Handelsbeauftragten Wolfgang Ronner (ca. 1501-1558) aus Kaufbeuren. Unter der schwarzen Schaube trägt er ein rotes Wams, dessen Schlitze mit schwarzem Stoff unterlegt sind, und ein weißes gefältetes Hemd mit Stehkragen. Seine Kopfbedeckung ist ein rotes Tellerbarett, das von einer zweifarbigen Bordüre eingefasst ist.

Ausgewiesen wird der Dargestellte durch die Anschrift auf dem gefalteten Brief, den er in der linken Hand hält. Neben der dreizackähnlichen Fugger’schen Handelsmarke steht: „Ronner / Zw Hannd(en) / Swats“. Auf dem Ring am Zeigefinger der linken Hand ist das Wappen der Familie Ronner zu erkennen. Es zeigt in Schwarz eine weiße Lilie auf nach oben offenem Halbmond.

Zu der Tafel gehört außerdem noch ein gleich großer Schiebedeckel (Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen, Inv.-Nr. 547b), der neben der Jahreszahl 1529 ebenfalls das Ronner’sche Wappen aufweist. Einst wurde er in den heute nicht mehr erhaltenen Originalrahmen geschoben und schützte so das Bild.

Deutsch: Die Zuschreibung des Gemäldes durch Kunsthistoriker konzentrierte sich zuletzt auf Hans Maler und Christoph Amberger. Das Porträt ist auf 1529 datiert, d. h. zwei bis drei Jahre nach dem letzten datierten, sicher Hans Maler zuzuschreibenden Werk. Gegen die Zuschreibung an Hans Maler wurden auch wiederholt stilistische Unterschiede angeführt. Kranz (2004) vertrat die Ansicht, das Bild sei von Hans Maler begonnen und postum von seinem Mitarbeiter Christoph Amberger vollendet worden. Vgl.
