| Description | A wish tree in Cappadocia/Nevşehir/Turkey. The valley seen behind is Avcılar Valley. Wish tree is an important figure in Turkish mythology and folklore and is still respected among common people today. Main practice with wish trees, as seen with the one shown, is tying small pieces of fabric to branches of the tree. It's believed that by this one's wish will be granted. The practice itself is not a part of Islamic culture. |
