| Description |
English: The basketball courts in the eastern half of Winthrop Playground (Parkside Playground), behind Public School 92 on Winthrop Street between Bedford Avenue and Rodgers Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. The courts were constructed during the 2012 renovations on the former open asphalt schoolyard. Pictured is the northern hoop on the westernmost court, with an arched concrete support, a TrueBounce perforated backboard, and a heavy-duty triple rim with a net. Arch supports are commonly found in parks in California and Memphis, but rarely seen in New York City save for courts in NYCHA complexes. |
