| Description |
English: Windsor & Eton Central Station, concourse 2005. View westward, towards the entrance to the truncated single platform remaining of the terminus of the ex-GWR branch from Slough. This is the present-day 'Windsor Royal Shopping', with restaurant and prominently displayed a replica GWR steam locomotive that might have hauled the Royal Train at the turn of the 19th century. It is all that remains here of a full-size replica of a Dean '3031' class 4-2-2, constructed in 1982 at the Steamtown Carnforth Works, attached to a replica LB&SCR tender and two replica Royal carriages, which in 1982-97 made a centrepiece of the 'Royalty and Railways' set up here by Madame Tussauds. |
