Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1918 cornerstone under the west side of the Gun Hill Road Bridge at the Williams Bridge Metro-North station on the Metro-North Harlem Line in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, New York City. Though the New York and Harlem Railroad terminated at this station in 1842, and was expanded to White Plains by 1844 before being acquired by New York Central Railroad, the bridge under Gun Hill Road wasn't built until 1918. Not only that, it also carried the IRT Third Avenue Line over that bridge until the period between 1973 and 1977. Note also the staircase to the Grand Central Terminal-bound platform.
