Description
English: Full-length portrait of a man in uniform with a sword under his arm. "Pretorius, Hansen, and Beneske as orderlies of Col Sigel, wore a grey uniform trimmed with yellow cord." (written above image on album page). "Wm Pretorius orderly of Col. F. Sigel in May, June, July 1861. private Co. 'K' 3d Rgt Infty. Mo. Vols 1861." (written below image on album page). Pvt. Pretorius was Col Siegel's orderly during his 3 month enlistment with Company K, 3rd Missouri Volunteer Infantry, which was involved in the Camp Jackson affair.
